Summary, etc	<br/><br/>වලගම්බා රජු විසින් ක්‍රි.ව. 43-17 කරවූ බව සඳහන් වේ. දඩයමේ ගිය සීතා නම් වැද්දෙකු මෙම ලෙන පිළිබඳව රජුට දැන් වූ බවත් රජු විසින් ලෙන්වල කටාරම් කොටවා පස් පිළිම ගෙයද, මහරජ විහාරය ද, දෙව් රජ විහාරය ද කරවූ බව ජනප්‍රවාදයේ වේ. මෙම විහාරය වළගම්බා රජු කරවූ බව සඳහන් වන්නේ රාජරත්නා කරයේ හා මෙම විහාරය පිළිබඳ ලියා ඇති තල්පත් වල පමණි. ක්‍රි.ව. 1187 - 1196 කාලයේ දී නිශ්ශංකමල්ල රජු විහාරය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කරවා පිළිමවල රන් ‍ආලේප කළ බවත් එසේ හෙයින් එය රංගිරි දඹුලු විහාරය ලෙස නම් කළ බවත්, නිශ්ශංක මල්ලගේ අභිලේඛන වල සඳහන් වේ. මෙහි ලෙන් විහාර පහක් වන අතර අලුත් මහා විහාරය කීර්ති ශ්‍රී රාජසිංහ රජු කරවූ බවත් දෙවන අලුත් විහාරය 18 වන සියවසේ දී දුල්ලෑවේ අදිකාරම් විසින් කරවන ලද බවත් සඳහන්‍වේ. මෙම විහාරය ලංකාවේ ඇති විශාලතම මහනුවර යුගයට අයත් බිතුසිතුවම් සහිත කළාගාරය ලෙස නම් කළ හැකි අතර මෙහි ඇති සම්පූර්ණ පිළිම ගණන 153කි. මේ හැර වළගම්බා රජු, නිශ්ශංක මල්ල රජු, කීර්ති ශ්‍රී රාජසිංහ රජු යන රජවරුන්ට අයත් ප්‍රතිමා තුනක් ද උපුල්වන්, තාරා දෙවඟන, නාථ විෂ්ණු යන දේව රූප 4ක් ද දක්නට ලැබේ. මෙහි සිතුවම් කර්මය සිලගම පරම්පරාවේ සිත්තරුන් විසින් සිදු කර ඇත.<br/>
